FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH HORSES?

Experience with horses is not necessary. Sometimes, having experience leads us to have expectations about what 'should' happen. Those expectations can prevent us from being open to other possibilities.

IS IT SAFE?

It is perfectly safe. We work with mature horses which are handled frequently and used to being around people. Because the horses are experiencing a natural way of being treated they willingly accept their human partners. Safety is a priority with all our programs. We insist upon adherence to all safety rules and guidelines.

WHAT IS THE CONNECTION BETWEEN HORSES AND PEOPLE?

Horses are highly intuitive, social and responsive to their environment. They have a natural desire for leadership and to be part of a herd … even if the herd is one person and one horse. Horses respond in the moment to stimuli around them, including us. They provide us with a true reflection of how we are perceived by the world around us, a reflection that enables us to take an honest look at the reality of who we are and how we relate to others in a safe non-threatening way. We can address those behaviors and attitudes that prevent us from moving forward in both our personal and professional lives.

WHERE ARE THE SESSIONS CONDUCTED?

All sessions are held at the farm of Millar Venture Arabians. It is an indoor facility and located approximately 15 minutes east of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

HOW LONG ARE THE PROGRAMS AND HOW MANY PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?

The number of participants is typically 1 to 12 people. This allows for individualized attention for each participant. The sessions can range from an hour, ½ day, full day or more.
